Singapore is a group of about 50 islands which reside less than 100 miles north of the equator, giving the area a stable, year-round, tropical climate, a short rainy season from November to January, and a constant temperature of about 80 degrees. Sentosa, the resort island in the Singapore group, is accessible to the main island either by bridge, ferry, or aerial cable car, but the other islands are unattached, accessible only by a short boat ride.
